Trail areas to be closed for repaving

Parts of the Fox River Trail will temporarily close for re-paving work until July 11.

The closures are part of scheduled preventive maintenance on portions of the asphalt trail. Each year, the Forest Preserve District of Kane County schedules four miles of trail to be re-paved.

Sections due to temporarily close include:

Dundee Township

• 1/4 mile between Third Street and Illinois Street

Elgin Township

• 2/3 mile between River Road and Moody

• 1 mile between Raymond and National streets

• 1 mile between Trout Park and Covey

St. Charles Township

• 3/4 mile between Norris Woods (St. Charles Park District property) and Sunset Road

• 1/4 mile between Rockwell and Pinelands

The district asks regular users of the Fox River Trail to watch for closure signs and be mindful of the possibility of construction traffic and workers on or around the trail.

For details, call the district at (630) 232-5980.
