Briefs: Learn about water gardens

Aquascape Designs has scheduled its annual Water Garden Weekend event for Saturday and Sunday at its St. Charles office, 901 Aqualand Way. The free event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Visitors can view a variety of aquatic plants, koi fish and annuals, all of which will be available for purchase at a discount. Local pond enthusiasts and nursery-related businesses also will be on hand to discuss water gardening. Other events include demonstrations of waterfall installations and rainwater harvesting. Give blood, get ice cream

Kiss tribute concert

The Kiss tribute band Mr. Speed is scheduled to perform Saturday at the Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St., St. Charles. The show replicates late 1970s Kiss concerts with stage costume, lights and the legendary rock band's songs. Grand opening fundraiser

Sage Bistro, a new restaurant in St. Charles, will celebrate its grand opening Sunday by raising money for four local charities. From 5 to 8 p.m., a reception featuring live entertainment, wine, beer and menu samples will raise funds for CASA Kane County, Lazarus House, TriCity Family Services and the Salvation Army.
