Whose math are you using?
Everyone has seen the reports of declining math scores in this country. Unfortunately, there is evidence of this within the "get-out" citizenry of the village of Campton Hills.
The powers behind the "get-out" crowd have done the math, which apparently looks better with a weak or nonexistent village. It seems obvious they have used their own self-serving financial interests and turned it into a campaign to demonize the village and present themselves as "saviors" of a way of life.
Many unsuspecting citizens have swallowed this hook, line and sinker. If they did the math themselves, they would find the village can deliver police protection and all services without raising any taxes or implementing excessive fees.
Of course, the "get-out" crowd doesn't want anyone to know this, so they continue to spread fear about the future.
The village is free. So why would citizens open their precious pocketbooks and spend thousands of dollars in attorney fees to "get-out" while demonizing the village for defending itself? Surely this is waste of time and money, not to mention the emotional toll.
So, if the "get-out" crowd wins in the courts, what do they win? Maybe they win a short-term emotional high, a sort of relief. While the powers may win, the members (citizens) actually lose. They lose police protection and the protection the village provides against urban sprawl and future tax increases required to maintain the schools.
Don't rely on someone else. Do the math yourself.
