Appalled at board in Carpentersville

As a 46-year resident of Carpentersville, I must say I thought I had seen everything when it comes to the incompetency on the village board, but this latest episode beats everything.

I am very disappointed trustees Kay Teeter, Ed Ritter, Keith Hinz, and Judy Sigwalt do not have the character to do the right thing and remove Paul Humpfer from the board for his conviction of attacking his wife with a baseball bat. At a time when violence against women is at epidemic proportions, what kind of a message do they think they are sending? Ritter and Hinz work for school District 300. If they do not have the necessary judgment skills on the village board, how can we expect them to have them in the classroom or at the job site?

Teeter and Sigwalt are basically betraying their own gender. I'm already disappointed in their judgment skills. It is women like Teeter and Sigwalt that help perpetuate this growing problem in our society.

I would like to see some of our other area elected officials who are women stand up and speak against this injustice. You should all be outraged.
