American Legion hosts dinner

The American Legion Post 57, 820 N. Liberty, Elgin, will host a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

The menu features spaghetti with meat sauce, meatballs, garlic toast and salad. Cost is $6 per person. The dinner is open to the public.

Elgin Post 1307 hosts breakfast

VFW Post 1307 Men's Auxiliary will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday.

Advance tickets are $5 for adults. Tickets at the door are $6 for adults and $4 for children age 12 and younger.

The VFW is at 1601 Weld Road on Elgin's west side, between McLean Boulevard and Randall Road.

Advance ticket sales end at noon Saturday. Please come out for a great breakfast and help the veterans.
