Two Elgin officers in the area said they saw Kelly run from the liquor store, police said. He was caught carrying the BB gun nearby, at Marguerite and Kate streets, police said.
Robinson was arrested as his home, police said.
Police said they recovered $900 of the $1,200 that was stolen.
