It's like a scene out of 'Casablanca'

Sen. Obama's comments regarding not knowing about Rev. Wright's opinions and statements despite a 20 year relationship reminds me of the scene in the movie "Casablanca" where the police chief closes Rick's Café, saying, "I'm shocked, shocked, to find out there is gambling going on in this establishment!"

Immediately after this proclamation, the waiter presents the chief with his own winnings.

Do we believe Sen. Obama really didn't know, or is he just experiencing selective recall? Moreover, is he being the sycophant of some unseen power like the police chief in the movie?
