Cougars' winning streak ends at 4

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The Quad Cities River Bandits borrowed a page out of the visiting Kane County Cougars' playbook, scoring early and late and hanging on for a 4-1 victory Saturday at Modern Woodmen Park to snap their own five-game losing streak and the Cougars' four-game winning streak.

Quad Cities took a 2-0 lead when Charlie Kingrey doubled home Jose Garcia and Pete Komza.

The Cougars broke through in the eighth as Corey Brown tripled into the right-field corner to score Matt Ray.

The Bandits scored a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the eight.

In the ninth, the Cougars' Todd Johnson and Walter Correa walked before reliever Pete Parise induced a game-ending double play to earn his first save.
