Constable is right about the Iraq war
Congratulations to Burt Constable on his outstanding column several weeks ago.
We who have opposed this war from the start have listened ad nauseum for the past five years about how well the Iraq war is going and how it was the right thing to do.
We have been attacked as cowards and traitors and they kept telling us that we would see when all was said and done how wrong we were.
We are still searching, and see nothing yet, only more and more uselessly dead and maimed soldiers.
As more and more information has come to light about the lead up and the execution of the war itself, we are finally seeing the truth about how greatly we were misled and lied to.
I certainly hope that whoever WTK of Naperville is, he has sent Mr. Constable a sincere "oops" apology that is rightly deserved.
It is fact that this administration knew of a threat of an air attack before 9/11 and chose to be on vacation instead of following up on that threat.
We now also learn that what has happened in Iraq - ignoring real terror, it costs more, it has improved terrorist recruiting, there would be a rise in ethnic strife, it would last over four years and would strain our relations with our allies - was all predicted before the war and ignored as well.
The arrogance and incompetence of this administration is criminal and their water carriers should also be held accountable.
Those listed by Mr. Constable had little credibility before, and certainly have even less now and owe the American people a huge apology. They certainly don't care that they were wrong and I am sure that we will wait forever before we ever hear that apology.
