Barack Obama is considerate

Look up the term "considerate" in the dictionary and what do you find?

"Given to consideration or to sober reflection; regardful of consequences or circumstances; circumspect; careful; esp. careful of the rights, claims, and feelings of others." These are qualities I appreciate in the leader of our country. The current president exhibited none of these traits even before he took office, yet he was elected by the voting habits of an apparently inconsiderate populace who favor rigid convictions and ideology over calculated action.

The result has been eight years of inconsiderate leadership, an illegal war, economic inequality and wasteful environmental policy. By contrast we have a candidate in Barack Obama who, even in the face of misplaced criticism and in some cases issues having little to do with his qualifications for the presidency, has at every turn responded responsibly and considerately.

Whether this nation has the common sense and consideration to elect such an obviously candid and forthright man is the question that remains to be answered. It is unfortunate for our country that issues of partisan politics, race and media convolution stand in his way.
