Man arrested in Lake Forest gun raid posts bond
A Lake Forest man arrested after police found dozens of guns in his home has been released from jail, authorities said Friday.
Benjamin Stevens, 49, was freed after he posted 10 percent of a $700,000 bond, or $70,000.
Stevenson, of 1991 Telegraph Road, was arrested Thursday after Illinois State Police found 85 guns and ammunition in his home, authorities said. Investigators had been following a tip, police said.
Stevens was charged with not having a valid firearm owner identification card. He had a card that had been revoked in 2002, police said.
Stevens is scheduled to appear in court Monday in Waukegan.
