Thanks for support of a great parade

Glen Ellyn Youth Baseball Association and Glen Ellyn Girls Softball would like to thank all the volunteers, sponsors, and participants of this year's baseball/softball parade. Over 1,000 kids, their parents and their coaches marched in the parade.

This year's parade marked the return of candy. The wrappers were picked up by players and the parade committee members.

This year also marked the first year prizes were awarded for the best team banners, oldest team with the best participation and team that picked up the most wrappers.

Special thanks to Dan Kroger and the park district for setting up the band shell for the program at Lake Ellyn Park after the parade. Thanks also to the Glen Ellyn Police Department, the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Department, and the parent traffic control volunteers, who ensured the safety of the parade participants. Thanks also to our speakers, singer and the parade committee for all their hard work.

It was a great event to get the 2008 baseball/softball season under way.
