Daily Herald series receives tribute

Daily Herald reporters Deborah Donovan and Anna Marie Kukec were honored Thursday by the Chicago Bar Association for a series on the mortgage foreclosure crisis. The series titled "The Dream Foreclosed" received an award for meritorious reporting as part of the association's Herman Kogan Media Awards competition. The awards were established in 1989 to recognize legal affairs reporting. The four-part series ran in November and also was nominated for the Peter Lisagor Awards.
