Where is outrage over Pastor Hagee?

I've been reading with great interest all the letters to Fence Post regarding the controversial comments by Barack Obama's pastor.

I'm dumbfounded why there has been no mention of the most terrible of comments regarding Hurricane Katrina and the Catholic Church.

I heard he recently said the hurricane was sent by God to destroy New Orleans because it has reached a level of sin unacceptable. He also trashed the Catholic Church calling them the "great whore."

So I did a little research and was shocked to discover that I was mistaken and in fact Rev Wright did not say these sick and hateful things.

It was actually Pastor Hagee who is the head of this huge evangelical church in Texas with more than 19,000 active members. Pastor Hagee made these comments and is also someone John McCain openly solicited and received an endorsement for his presidency.

On George Stephanopolis' show a couple weeks ago, he asked John McCain about Pastor Hagee's endorsement, which the senator said he was "glad to have" but rejected any comments the pastor made about the Catholic Church.

Sen. McCain did not mention the comments regarding Hurricane Katrina in which Pastor Hagee said that "Hurricane Katrina was, in fact, the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans… New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God" because "there was to be a homosexual parade there on the Monday that the Katrina came."

The past month or so I've read many Fence Post letters from readers expressing their concern about Rev. Wright's comments.

However, there has been no concern expressed from these Fence Post contributors about Pastor John Hagee's comments whose endorsement Sen. John McCain actively sought.

It looks to me that the smear machine is in full throttle based on how all the conservative "patriots" are beating to death this Rev. Wright story.

However, when you compare Rev. Wright's comments to Pastor John Hagee's comments, they are not even in the same league.

Why isn't Fox News beating this story to death? Do they hate America?
