Harper College buildings reopen after bomb scare

Authorities have completing a sweep of three evacuated buildings at Harper College following a bomb threat and are preparing to reopen the facilities this evening.

Officials at the Palatine campus plan to resume classes in Buildings X, Y and Z this evening, with 6 and 6:15 p.m. courses scheduled to commence at 6:30 p.m.

College spokesman Phil Burdick said the threat was in an e-mail but declined to elaborate on its content or whom received it.

The threat was reported at about 4 p.m. and a calm, orderly evacuation followed.

There is no evidence at this point that the threat was anything more than a prank and there is no indication that any device was found.
