Plain Dirt Gardeners: The Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners will host Ken Benson from Triton College, who will have a presentation on growing vegetables May 20.
Socializing is at 6:45 p.m., the presentation is at 7 p.m. and the business meeting is at 8:30 p.m. at the Batavia Public Library on Route 31 and Wilson Street.

• The group will host its annual plant sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church, 8 S. Lincoln Ave., Batavia.
Native wildflowers, perennials, ferns, hostas, prairie plants, grasses, trees, shrubs, and many hard-to-find plants will be available. All plants will be labeled, priced and put on tables in categories to assist gardeners. Expert gardeners will be available to offer planting advice and answer questions about plants. The club has more than 1,000 plants of unusual varieties not often found at big flower markets.
Proceeds benefit the Wildflower Sanctuary and the scholarship fund.
