Paper boy called hero for helping elderly customer

A nine-year-old Sycamore paper boy is being called a hero for helping save the life of an elderly customer.

Ethan Hall was delivering papers in Sycamore on Saturday when he noticed a stack of mail and newspapers outside the home of 92-year-old Evelyn Kikkebush .

Unable to see past the blinds of her house, he returned home and told his parents. They called police.

Officers arrived at Kikkebush's home to find the woman on the floor of her kitchen, where she'd fallen three days before.

Kikkebush's now being treated for dehydration and other injuries at a DeKalb hospital.

And Sycamore Police Chief Don Thomas says Hall will receive a commendation for having the presence of mind to realize something was amiss.
