Thanks for helping out our firefighters
This past Wednesday night, April 30, Baskin Robbins stores locally and nationally sponsored their second annual "31 cent scoop night" in a partnership with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
On a national level Baskin Robbins donated $100,000 to the NFFA to mark the event and to reinforce its commitment to the firefighting community across the nation.
The United States Congress created the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to lead a nationwide effort to remember America's fallen firefighters. Since 1992, the tax-exempt, nonprofit Foundation has developed and expanded programs to honor fallen fire heroes and assist their families and coworkers. The Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, located in Emmitsburg, Md. The Foundation receives funding through private donations from caring individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations.
Locally fire departments participated in this event throughout the nation in order to support this program, to promote fire prevention and to interact with our communities. Mundelein Fire Department personnel and Countryside Fire Protection District personnel staffed both locations in Mundelein and had a wonderful evening of fun serving our customers. The outpouring of support in our area was fantastic as we know our personnel enjoyed the evening and had a great time learning the art of serving ice cream.
On behalf of the officers and members of both the Mundelein Fire Department and the Countryside Fire Protection District, we want to thank everyone for your support of the fire service in our area. We are proud to serve the community and truly appreciate the recognition for this program.
