Seminar to address hearing advances

A free, educational, hearing help lunch and seminar will take place from 11:15 to 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at Jimmy's Charhouse, 2290 Point Blvd., Elgin.

Speaker Dave Colombo, AccuEar technology expert, will discuss current and upcoming advances in hearing instrument technology and answer questions regarding hearing health care.

The lunch and learn seminar is sponsored by Professional Hearing & Audiology Clinics.

Colonial Cafe celebrates 30 years

Colonial Cafe and Ice Cream is celebrating its 30th anniversary in Elgin. To mark this momentous occasion, the restaurant at 600 S. McLean Blvd. in Elgin, will be serving pancakes for 1-cent each from opening to closing on Thursday. There is a limit of 30 pancakes per person.

"We wanted to do something spectacular to thank the Elgin community for 30 great years, said Steve Fialek, General Manager of the Elgin Colonial Cafe.

"The way the area has supported the restaurant over the years is really wonderful."

Pancakes for a Penny will be served all day May 8 ith plenty of syrup and butter in celebration of the restaurant's 30th year anniversary celebration. Customers can order additional items and toppings at the regular price.
