Calvary to hold book, plant sale

Calvary Episcopal Church will hold its annual book, plant and trunk sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today in the front yard of the church, 222 S. Batavia Ave. (Route 31), Batavia. The church also will hold a barbecue dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. today.

The sale offers hundreds of books in all categories, a wide variety of plants, and yard sale items.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit a wide variety of ministries, both within and outside of the parish.

The barbecue dinner will feature three choices: pork chop, chicken or combination. All dinners include applesauce, coleslaw, baked beans, rolls and butter.

Price is $10 per dinner. Drinks and dessert will also be available for separate purchase.

Dinner proceeds will support the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry and Calvary's two summer youth mission trips, repairing homes through Appalachia Service Project, and teaching Vacation Bible School at an Indian reservation in Montana.

Bethlehem choirs to present Noah musical

The carol and cherub choirs of Bethlehem Lutheran Church will present "A Technical Promise" at the 8 and 10:30 a.m. services Sunday. The church is at 1145 N. Fifth Ave. (Route 25) in St. Charles.

More than 60 children will dramatize the story of the flood and Noah's response in the musical.
