Lombard to residents: village's water safe to drink

Lombard's Public Works Department wants residents to know the village's water is safe to drink.

Residents have reported receiving notices suggesting a package delivery was missed. When they call the phone number on the notice, the company says they are testing water in Lombard because residents have been complaining. The test, they say, is usually $75, but they'll do it free.

"The village tests water throughout the village on a weekly basis," public works utilities superintendent Angela Podesta said in a written release. "The water consistently meets all EPA drinking water standards and the test results are mailed to every resident and posted on the village Web site every July."
