Phone meeting in response to Stroger

I am writing today to commend (Congressional candidate) Steve Greenberg and State Sen. Matt Murphy.

On Monday night, they co-hosted a telephone town hall meeting to discuss the outrageous sales tax increase rammed through by Cook County Board President Todd Stroger.

Several thousand people participated in the phone call and we were given the opportunity to sound off on everything from gas prices to the sales tax.

Mr. Greenberg and Senator Murphy were both knowledgeable and helpful in answering our questions.

At a time when our federal government, our governor and certainly our county board president seem deaf to the needs of taxpaying citizens, I am glad that there are people like Mr. Greenberg and Senator Murphy who are willing to listen.

I want to thank them again for the call and I hope they plan to hold more in the future.
