Baseball, softball

Players needed: The Tornados Men's 12-inch softball team seeks players ages 18- to 40 for the 2008 season. The team plays between 18 and 25 games Monday and Wednesday nights in the Arlington Heights/Rolling Meadows area. Tryouts will be held later in the month. Golf

Soccer

Holiday tournament: Grove United Soccer Association, a non-for-profit organization, will hold its annual soccer tournament May 23-26 at Willow Stream Park. The association wants to raise money for scholarships to give less fortunate kids an opportunity to play soccer at a competitive level.

The cost for the Memorial Day Shootout for U8-U11 costs $425 and $475 for U12-U19.
