Illinois Clean Car Act must be passed

Illinois legislators have a chance to make a huge difference in our health, save us money at the pump, and fight global warming by supporting the Illinois Clean Car Act, HB 3424.

Auto emissions are the second largest source of man-made emissions that cause global climate change. Illinois cannot wait or depend on the federal government to act. By passing the Clean Car Act, Illinois will join 13 other states that are reducing auto emissions, resulting in a 27 percent reduction in global warming pollution by 2030. There is no need to delay action because the technology to achieve this goal is available today. Additionally, this will help save money at the gas pump and lessen our dependence on foreign oil by making cars more efficient.
