Man sought in breaking and entering
Police are trying to identify a man accused of making himself at home while some Naperville residents were away, officials said Tuesday.
The unidentified man -- described as being about 30 to 40 years old, about 5'9" to 6'0" tall with a thin build and light-colored hair with a goatee -- is accused of breaking into a house and eating a sandwich he brought along with him while the residents were away, officials said.
The unidentified man was first found near the open garage of the residence on the 1300 block of Chestnut Ridge around 9:15 p.m. March 31, and fled after being spotted by the residents, officials said.
Police said nothing was taken from the house but personal items were disturbed. Police said the man was inside the house for an extended amount of time, "lounging and eating a Potbelly sandwich that he brought with him."
The residents, concerned about the man being in their house, installed a security system after the incident. The system activated on the early morning of April 20. Police found that the front door was pushed in but entry wasn't gained.
Anyone with information about this incident or the man in the sketch is asked to call the Naperville Crime Stoppers hotline at (630)420-6006. All calls are anonymous.
