Schock to coach Palatine girls basketball
Leslie Schock, a former all-state girls basketball player for Elgin High School who went on to play at Northwestern University, has been named the varsity girls basketball coach at Palatine High School.
Schock teaches in the social studies department at Palatine and has been coaching lower-level girls basketball at the school for the past five years.
She is also in her second season as the varsity girls lacrosse coach.
"I'm very exited and looking forward to having Leslie direct our program," said Palatine athletic director Jerry Dobbs.
Schock replaces Ron Theberge, who resigned the post two weeks ago. He guided the Pirates to their first MSL conference championship and regional championship in more than 20 years.
