Friday Dance Night: Join the Salt Creek Park District Friday for Friday Dance Night, taught by professional line dance and jitterbug champion Shelley Gross. The event takes place from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Twin Lakes Recreation Area, 1200 E. Twin Lakes Drive, Palatine.

Partners are not required. Admission is $10 for one hour of free line dancing lessons, and one hour of free dance.

Preschool registration: Preschool registration is now being accepted for 3- and 4-year-old classes at Rose Park, 530 S. Williams Ave., Palatine. Classes begin Labor Day week.

A $25 deposit holds a spot for the fall. There will be no December tuition payment due to holiday breaks.
