Reward offered for Oak Park murder info
The family of an Oak Park physician is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of people involved in the murder of the 71-year-old man.
John Connolly was struck in the head last year and knocked him down outside an Oak Park church.
Connolly diagnosed himself with a head bruise, wrenched back and a few broken ribs that he figured would heal on their own. But while swimming in the pool behind his Orlando, Fla., home three months later, Connolly lost consciousness and drowned.
The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide, the suburb's second of 2007.
Frustrated by the lack of leads, Connolly's family is offering the award. Oak Park spokesman David Powers says authorities face an uphill battle in their efforts to find the suspect.
