Register to Vote: United States citizens living in suburban Cook County may register to vote during regular library hours. Two forms of ID are required. One must list the current address of the applicant. Applications are taken at the first floor Information/Registration Desk.

One-on-One Career Counseling: Edie Kleinman, a licensed career counselor from Jewish Vocational Service, will provide 30-minute one-on-one assistance with interviewing, resume writing and other aspects of the job search process from 9-11:30 a.m. Thursday in a fourth floor study room. Appointments are required. Please sign up at the Registration Desk or call (847) 376-2787. A waiting list will be kept.

Battle of the Books: Participants in grades 4-8 will read books in advance and form teams to answer questions during the "Battle of the Books" Friday in the first floor Friends Room. Fourth and fifth grades battle from 7-8 p.m.; sixth through eighth grades battle from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Registration required. Book lists available at the Youth Services Desk.

Staging to Sell Your Home: Accredited Staging Professional Nora Flaherty will discuss selling your home by making it appealing to the largest number of buyers, from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday. Visit www.dppl.org and click on "events" to register or call (847) 376-2787.

Piano Concert: Pianist Mark Valenti will play a selection of classical music at 2 p.m. Sunday. The concert will be an overview of the evolution of piano styles from Classicism to Romanticism through the Impressionism of Debussy and Modernism. Tuesday Morning Book Discussion: Reference Librarian Joanne Griffin will lead a discussion of "The Lemon Tree," by Sandy Tolan at 10 a.m. May 6 in the Rotary Heritage Room on the third floor. Introduction to the Internet: Class for Internet beginners covers basic techniques and explains what's in cyberspace. Drop-in Email Assistance: Learn how to set up an e-mail account or have your questions about e-mail answered, 6:30 to 8 p.m. May 20.

Friends Ongoing Book Sale: Friends of the Library sponsors an ongoing book sale in the south corridor of the first floor during regular library hours.

Library Closing: The library will be closed May 8 for a staff in-service day.
