Briefs: Cops issue e-mail warning
Gurnee police Monday issued a community warning about what they say is the newest spam e-mail trick hitting computers. Police said the subject line has a person's name as part of the following on the subject line: "We caught you naked! Check the video." Authorities said clicking the link on the e-mail for the purported video will trigger a computer infection and join a collection of others that were struck. Police said an originator then can control the group of computers remotely. Authorities suggest never opening e-mail from an unknown sender.
Bus driver remembered
A Warren Township High School bus driver's memory will live on at the Almond Road campus. Colleagues have purchased a memory brick for JoJo VanTreeck, who drove a bus for Warren District 121 from 1978 until she was stricken by cancer. VanTreeck died in November. She was known as someone who enjoyed children and cared for animals. Warren drivers collected money to pay for the brick, unveiled last week at the Almond Road campus for upperclassmen. The brick is part of the Warren Township High School Foundation's memory wall. Brick sale proceeds go toward equipment purchases for students that aren't part of the regular school budget.
