Armed robber sought in Waukegan bank heist

Waukegan police are searching for a man who robbed a bank just before noon Monday.

The robber entered Guaranty Bank, 1700 N. Lewis Ave., around 11:58 a.m. and handed the teller a note demanding all of the bank's currency.

The man implied he had a weapon, although one was not seen, police Cmdr. Wayne Walles said in a written statement.

After the teller gave him an undisclosed amount of money, the man fled from the bank heading west.
