Pray for troops, no matter your view
I watched the hearings conducted in Washington and was not happy as to the way the questioning went with Gen. David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker.
First of all, Sen. Edward Kennedy was very ignorant of what exactly they are accomplishing in Iraq. He has not been there to my knowledge so he does not know the pros and cons. Then there was Chairman Carl Levin, who quoted the New York Times. Levin enjoyed cutting off Petreaus' answers because he did not want to hear what he had to say as a fact. Sen. John McCain, who had suffered in the military and has been in Iraq, knows that progress is being made and goes along with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's plan. McCain did give Petreaus an opportunity to explain about the progress. Kennedy thinks he knows all and made a statement on behalf of "MOST AMERICANS." DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME, SEN. KENNEDY. I know this war must end and our military must come home, but when is the question. Sen. John Warner made a comment: "Is all this sacrifice bringing a service to America?" I believe sincerely that sacrifice has happened in the past and probably will continue until we as Americans back our military 100 percent. Whatever the government, senators politicians and even the American voters say, we need to finish this war once and for all. I pray for my grandson each and every day because he is out in Iraq and he needs to know that we all care and that demonstrator who yelled, "bring them home, bring them home" needs to PRAY that it ends and that we will have a safe America.
