Thanks for support of Clean Car Act
Several DuPage legislators have sided with their constituents against industry lobbyists by co-sponsoring the Illinois Clean Car Act.
They are to be praised!
If the General Assembly passes the Clean Car Act, Illinois will join 13 states that have more stringent standards for pollution and greenhouse gas emissions than the federal government.
Gas is nearly $4 per gallon. These standards will save people money at the pump.
DuPage County's air fails to meet federal standards. The Clean Car Act will curb the pollution that causes asthma and other respiratory diseases.
Currently, cars with cleaner tailpipe emissions are being sent to the East and West coasts, but not to Illinois.
Thank you, state Reps. Biggins, Fortner, Froehlich and Pihos, for co-sponsoring HB 3424, the House version of the Clean Cars bill.
Thank you, Sens. Cronin, Radogno and Harmon, for co-sponsoring SB 2238, the Senate version.
As the people of DuPage struggle to pay for gasoline, worry about global warming and contend with preventable respiratory diseases, there is no excuse for the other DuPage legislators not to support the Illinois Clean Car Act.
