4-H deserves more state funds
I am a 4-H member in Kane County. I am disappointed the state of Illinois has not given the money it promised to the University of Illinois Extension, including the 4-H programs. The 2008 state budget includes $12.8 million for the U of I Extension across the state -- $260,000 of that is for Kane County. The 4-H budget is ruined without the money promised.
I have been in 4-H for six years. In that time, I have grown and learned more about speaking in public and being a leader. I assure you, it is not just about cows.
I ask you to please contact your state leaders to find out why the money already promised hasn't been paid.
