What's your pet's peeve? 'Intuitive' may have answer
'Give me a bone .. a big juicy bone …'
If you could ask your dog, would he think you are a good owner?
Some pet owners spent Friday morning getting that answer.
The WKRS morning show brought in "animal intuitive" Denise Zak Friday morning to help people and their dogs communicate a little better.
"I've just been able to do this all my life," Zak said, explaining she has a special ability to speak with animals.
"It's just been natural for me … I didn't know it was unique until I realized other people couldn't do it."
Zak was a guest on the Libby Collins show at the Waukegan-area radio station.
Listeners and their pets were invited out for a free reading from Zak outside of the studio.
The people who lined up had questions like, Why does my dog try to get out of the yard? Why does my dog nip at people? Or, they wanted to know what their dog is trying to tell them.
Zak gave each one an answer that seemed to satisfy their curiosity.
"I thought it was real interesting," said Christine Rickert of Mundelein, who was there with her dog Rascal.
"She surprised me when she said the dog was adopted before. He has actually been adopted a couple of times."
Eight-year-old Lilly Schenkle wanted to know why her dog, Dutch, often acts up and nips at her. Zak told her Dutch didn't like the white shirt she had dressed him in.
"He prefers darker colors, like the shirt you have on," Zak told her. "And Dutch is a little on the heavy side and wants to be taken for more walks."
Zak, who lives in West Dundee, said people interested in making an appointment should contact her through her Internet site at www.tailsoftheheart.com.
