Prospect Heights minister arrested in Web sex sting

A minister of a Prospect Heights church is charged with indecent solicitation of a child after a police sting, authorities said.

Prosecutors said Young S. Yoo, 51, of 1611 W. Concord Drive in Arlington Heights, arranged to meet and have sex with someone he believed to be a 14-year-old girl. A Chicago police officer posed as a girl as part of the Cook County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Yoo, a minister at Kurutuki Korean Methodist Church in Prospect Heights, was arrested Tuesday where he had agreed to meet the girl on Chicago's South Side, authorities said.

Police said he admitted to the charges.

Bond was set Wednesday at $200,000. His next court date is May 13.

The officer had engaged in Internet conversations with Yoo since April 15, state's attorney spokesman Andy Conklin said.

A phone message left at the church wasn't returned Thursday.
