Defense contracts boost Northrop

ROLLING MEADOWS -- Defense contractor Northrop Grumman posted quarterly earnings Thursday that beat analysts' expectations. Northrop, which has substantial operations in Rolling Meadows, said it gained profits of $264 million, compared to $387 million a year earlier. Revenue rose 6 percent to $7.72 billion.
