Instructors at Campbell: The Kane County Forest Preserve District is showcasing the artwork of three art educators from Elgin Academy. The first exhibitor, Joseph Stuart, teaches high school art history, painting and drawing. Stuart's exhibiting pieces are large scale oil on wood panel landscapes. Richard Browing is a retired Elgin high school art teacher and currently teaches art to elementary and middle school students at Elgin Academy. His unique pieces are a combination of mixed media assembled in a shadow box format. Additional pieces exhibited by Browning are acrylic painting on velvet -- very reminiscent of the Elvis paintings on velvet. As a matter of fact, Browning does have a piece titled "Elvis and Me."

The third artist, Kristy Ross, is a photography instructor at Elgin Academy and has taught computer art in previous years. Her photos are a combination of black-and-white digital prints shot with infrared film and digital composites also done in the black-and-white format. Many of the exhibited pieces will be available for purchase.

The Campbell House is part of the Kane County Events Center, along with Elfstrom Stadium and is east of Geneva off of Kirk Road, midway between Route 38 and Fabyan Parkway. The gallery hours are: Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Please call before you arrive as other events and meetings are scheduled in the gallery area. For more information, call (630) 208-9567.
