Aurora boy hurt after running into car

A 5-year-old Aurora boy was airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood about 3:55 p.m. Tuesday after running into a car, police said today.

Witnesses told police they saw the boy dart into westbound traffic in the 400 block of Rosewood Avenue. They said the boy struck the side of a 1994 Olds Cutlass driven by a 47-year-old Aurora woman.

The driver was not ticketed. The hospital declined comment today on the boy's condition.
