Registration open for St. John's Lutheran School

St. John's Lutheran School in downtown Algonquin is accepting registration for preschool, all-day pre-kindergarten, all-day kindergarten and first through eighth grade day school.

Starting this fall, St. John's Lutheran School will offer an all-day pre-kindergarten program that will meet three times a week for 4- and 5-year old children. These full-day classes are offered from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

St. John's also will offer blended programs for 3- and 4-year old students from 8:45 to 11:15 a.m. or 12:30 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday and a 4- and 5- year-old morning-only blended program from 8:45 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

St. John's also offers all-day kindergarten and first- through eighth-grade classes. The program offers core subjects as well as computer technology, art, music, band, choir, chapel and physical education. The program is complemented by a before-and after-school program, after-school extracurricular programs including art classes, chess club, foreign language classes, Scouting programs and sports programs including soccer, volleyball, basketball, cheerleading and track and field.

St. John's has limited class sizes and acceptance is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Enrollment is open to the community and is not limited to church members.
