Church welcomes new associate pastor

Light of Christ Lutheran Church in Algonquin has announced that Sharon Rogers will be installed as associate pastor at the 7:45 a.m. Sunday worship service.

In the role of associate pastor, Rogers will oversee four areas of ministry: children's ministry, youth ministry, and the internal and external care ministries of the congregation. She completed her seminary training at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.

Rogers was ordained April 13 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in DeKalb. She has considerable experience serving in the church at local, synod and national levels.

Rogers has participated in local, national and international mission trips, including a trip to South Africa with Evangelical Lutheran Church in America youth in 2003.
