Briefs: Some closure on Randall
Pavement repairs on Randall Road between Dean and Oak streets in St. Charles will result in intermittent daily lane closures beginning at 7 a.m. today. Closures will take place during regular business hours, with lanes to reopen daily at 5 p.m. The work is scheduled to last until April 30, officials said. Call (630) 845-7875.

AU piano recital
Joe Conway of North Aurora and Carolyn Crane of St. Charles are among Aurora University piano students who will be featured in a spring recital at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Perry Theater in the Aurora Foundation Center for Community Enrichment at 1305 Kenilworth Place in Aurora. Admission is free. Performers are students of instructors Sung Ha Kim and Rose Marie Wood.
Green Market aid
The Geneva Green Market, a market featuring locally grown and minimally processed produce, is seeking volunteers to help one day a week from the end of June to the end of October. Responsibilities will vary from handing out fliers to manning the Geneva Green Market booth to directing visitors to the vendors they are seeking. Law scholarships available
The Kane County Bar Association is accepting applications for its annual law school scholarships through May 1. Two $1,000 scholarships are given in a typical year. Applicants must live in Kane County, or have a parent who resides in the county, and attend law school in the 2008-09 school year. Applications are available online at www.kanecountybar.org.
Outdoor fun at lab
Fermilab has a Family Outdoor Activity Fair from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the laboratory's Lederman Science Center. The free event includes bug-catching, a birds of prey display, a demonstration on how to look for life in a log, a look at the buffalo herd and a chance to net pond critters.
