Sparrow fundraiser had many helpers

Friends of Home of the Sparrow held our annual spring luncheon at Wynstone Country Club April 10. We appreciate all who attended and trust that you had a lovely time. We thank you for your continuing support of the women and children in our shelters and other client families.

As in past years, vendors were on hand to sell their specialty items and they contributed 20 percent of their proceeds. Each donated an item to our raffle as well. Thank you to: Toggle; Dynasty IV; Twinkle Teas and Tots; Susan McConnell Photography; Beverly Adams Spring Collection; Vintage Faire; Style Shack, Inc.; and JC Photography for participating and your generosity.

Other generous contributors to our drawing were: Judy Gibbons/ReMax of Barrington; Xanadu Spa; Ginny Beck; Spa Vargas; Melinda Betzold; Learning Express; and The Chop Shop. There were some very happy winners! Thank you for your donations.

The Barrington Jewel and the Dominick's in Lake Zurich donated a generous amount of croissants and baguettes for our bake sale, and we were able to send some that were left over to the shelters. I'm sure that was a special treat for the families at dinner.

We are grateful to the staff at Wynstone Country Club for their cooperation and service. We had many compliments on the delicious food.

Special thanks to Jill Davis for the beautiful centerpieces and to Ellen Day/Silpada for contributing $10 to Home of the Sparrow for each set of charms sold.

My heartfelt appreciation goes to Judy Gibbons, her committee and all of our board for another fantastic event.
