Club regrets loss of plant program

The Garden Club of Inverness wishes to express its regret at the dissolution of the Harper College Plant Science and Technology program.

In addition, at this time, we would like to applaud Joyce Grattoni, coordinator of Plant Science and Technology, for her contribution and dedication to the Harper community.

She is a talented designer who has shared her expertise with her students, area garden clubs and other community organizations throughout the Northwest suburbs.

Joyce is a great resource for people who are exploring floral design and who seek her advice. She has provided a number of outstanding programs and seminars to our club members. The community at large is losing not only a dedicated teacher but also a curriculum so very relevant in today's environmentally conscious world.

We as a gardening group will personally miss her programs, and we wish her every success in her new endeavors.

Beth Woldman, president

The Garden Club of Inverness
