Garage burns in Geneva fire
A one-car garage outside a home at 121 S. Harrison St. in Geneva was destroyed Sunday after firefighters responded to a call about 10 a.m.
No one was injured and firefighters took about 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
"It was pretty involved when we got there," said Geneva Fire Lt. Kevin Forest.
Workers remained on the scene for about an hour to continue their investigations and clean up. Officials estimate the damage at approximately $10,000.
Forest said they have not yet determined what started the fire, but it appears be accidental.
"The gentleman was working on a small gas engine in there, but we're still interviewing the homeowners," he said.
