No comeback this time for Cougars

LANSING, Mich. -- For the first time in a road game this season the Kane County Cougars were unable to bounce back when the opposition scored first.

The Cougars dropped the finale of their three-game series with host Lansing 10-4 Saturday afternoon at Oldsmobile Park. The Cougars (9-1 on the road) won the series but saw their winning streak end at four games.

The Lugnuts scored three times and had 7 hits through 2 innings against starter Scott Hodsdon (0-2). In the fourth inning, after the Cougars trimmed the lead to 3-1, Lansing saw eight straight batters reach base -- and after the first two batters were retired.

The Cougars trailed 9-1 by the end of the inning.

Hodsdon gave up 7 runs -- 4 earned -- on 11 hits in 3¿ innings, walking none and striking out three in his second loss of the year.
