County exec accused of DUI
Will County Executive Larry Walsh was cited for driving under the influence after being stopped by police in Elwood, police said. The 60-year-old former state senator was pulled over Thursday evening after a sheriff's deputy saw his car weaving on the road, police said. He was released on $100 bail Friday morning. A field sobriety test showed he had a blood-alcohol content of .11 percent, above the state's legal threshold of .08 percent, police said. Walsh's office says he was returning from a community event at the time of the arrest. Walsh apologized in a statement issued Friday afternoon and says he'll fully cooperate with police.
