Rep. Kirk exercises independence
Our community has a history of thinking independently on the issues we face. We put an emphasis on individual issues and candidates over political parties.
I support Congressman Mark Kirk because he is not afraid to break from the president and his party in order to get results.
Congressman Kirk stood up on stem cell research, the SCHIP program for children's health insurance and supports a winding down of the mission in Iraq. Overall, Kirk voted to override four out of six presidential vetoes.
