Warren grad killed in Wisconsin accident
Friends say 19-year-old Desaree Suo was a loving and caring person who was always there for them.
Suo, a Warren Township High School graduate living in Wildwood, died Sunday when an all-terrain vehicle she was driving flipped over in Iowa County, Wis., police officials said.
Iowa County Chief Deputy Sheriff Jon Pepper said Suo was driving a "gator-style" ATV on Hewitt Lane in Wyoming, Wis., when she lost control of the vehicle. The ATV flipped over and threw her to the pavement. Suo was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
"She was up here on a vacation with her boyfriend and his family," he said. "It's really a tragedy."
Suo was found by a passing motorist, and paramedics were called. She was flown to the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, where she was later pronounced dead.
Morgan Gricar said she became fast friends with Suo because she was someone who could really be trusted.
"She was such a beautiful person," she said. "She always wanted to help everyone and, I swear, everyone who ever met her loved being around her. She had a lot of friends."
Carolyn Waller, community relations director for District 121, said counselors are available for students who need to talk.
Jayson Paulus, a guidance counselor at Warren Township High School's Almond Campus, said Suo was remembered as a driven student.
"She was a student willing to challenge herself with full class loads, and she did a good job investigating opportunities and following through on those opportunities," he said. "She had plans to be successful."
Suo will be remembered from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Kristan Funeral Home P.C., 219 W. Maple Ave. Mundelein. A funeral service will follow at 5 p.m.
