Home sellers invited to Smart Choice seminars

Century 21 Maki United offers two Smart Choices seminars for home sellers from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday in Gurnee and Waukegan.

Industry experts and public officials will offer tips about the right time, price and techniques for a successful home sale. They'll explain today's real estate market and the psychological, financial, tax and government factors that increase sales success.

Partners at Century 21 Maki United/United II will address market conditions, foreclosures, short-sales and when to sell. An accountant from Evoy, Kamshulte & Jacobs will review tax laws and forgiveness of debt. Gurnee Mayor Kristina Kovarik and Waukegan Mayor Richard H. Hyde's representative will review home buying and home selling in their communities. A Midwest Bank expert will cover down-payment saving and credit counseling. Century 21 Mortgage will explain mortgage qualifying and mortgage products.

The Smart Choices seminars will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in Gurnee at the Gurnee Park District, 4374 Old Grand Ave. At 6 p.m. on Thursday, home sellers will gather in Waukegan at Century 21 Maki United, 3425 W. Sunset Ave. at Green Bay Road.
